Crater Lake National Park is an American national park located in southern Oregon which was established on May 22, 1902 by President Theodore Roosevelt. Crater Lake was only created after Mount Mazama's explosive eruption approximately 7,700 years ago. What remains today is the deepest lake in the United States and the ninth deepest in the world at a depth of 1,943 feet. It's 33-mile loop around the lake is among the most scenic drives anywhere in the Pacific Northwest.
