The Hudson's Bay Company outpost on Puget Sound has been
restored as part of the Fort Nisqually Living History Museum. Pretend you’re living in the 19th century
at Fort Nisqually Living History Museum. Visitors can experience a
replica 1850s living in Washington Territory with the help of costumed
interpreters.
There are nine structures that are accessible to the public, including the Visitor Center with Museum Store, the Granary, the Factors House, each of which are National Historic Landmarks.

With the inclusion of a real blacksmith's shop, a kitchen garden, a home, a trading store, and knowledgeable costumed docents, the museum is now a fantastic resource for learning about Washington's past. Both adults and kids can engage and enjoy in various activities, such as baking bread and churning butter. Groups from schools are welcome too. The visitor center has some good exhibits and a nice gift shop. There were also period costumes for dress up. Pretty well rounded museum and easy walk. Also there are easy trails nearby for a hike.
