Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, Washington, United States, is a large urban 760-acre park. More than 3.1 million people visit this park each year, which is right close to Franke Tobey Jones. 


Point Defiance Park offers more  beautiful views of the water front, islands, and mountains. They also have top-notch zoo, the breathtaking Rose and Fuchsia gardens, the countless miles of hiking trails through the forest, beaches to hang out on, and sea mammals and creature visible around and lounging.

 

 

There is a lot to see and do at Point Defiance Park. There are several trails available. You will see benches around and feel the tranquil gardens if you wish to unwind. 

 

They also have duck pond, where you can experience one of the most serene, natural environments on this park.


 

Salish Sea Promenade 

Today's Point Defiance Marina complex may appear more modern, but the Promenade still provides a welcome area to follow the sea and the tides. View the traffic being shuttled across the Salish Sea by the Vashon Island Ferry and witness sea mammals. You may walk and enjoy the 1.5-mile stretch of water and be relaxed.  From the edge of Point Defiance Park, you can board a ferry boat to travel to Vashon Island.

Owen Beach is located at the other end of the Promenade and is also reachable via Five Mile Drive. There is plenty of parking. This beach provides a lovely seaside with sunbathing pebbles. Its is a popular place on weekends and during summer.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

From Tacoma, head northwest on Pacific Avenue. Continue onto Schuster Parkway. In 1.3 miles, take a slight left onto Ruston Way. In 2.9 miles, continue straight at the traffic circle, and continue straight at the next traffic circle in 0.2 miles. Turn right onto N Pearl Street. The park is in 0.3 miles.
